We offer a hands-on primary care role that is flexible enough to allow you to have the quality of life you want for you and your family.

In an out of hours service you do not deal with any referrals. We want you helping patients, not filing in paperwork so you get to spend more time directly helping patients.

As a salaried GP you will receive a competitive annual salary, NHS pension, six days study leave, six weeks holiday, all medical indemnity and GMC membership costs reimbursed.

As a sessional doctor you will have access to a broad range of shifts available both in and out of hours, be able to choose your shift type, have no commitments and receive a competitive salary. We draw up the rota each month so you can be in charge of your hours offering ultimate flexibility.  You won’t have any paperwork- as a sessional doctor you walk away at the end of your shift.

You also have the choice of the type of work that you do. We offer the following options:

Primary care centre- face to face consultations at our PCCs
Advice phone line- from your home or one of our PCCs
Home visits- we give you a driver, a car, a laptop. Each car has resuscitation kits, oxygen, drugs cabinets and panic alarms.
Urgent care centre- you can choose between daytime or ad hoc sessions.
7 day access (extended hours)- you can choose shorter sessions during the week as 15 minute appointment based working on emis with access to patient notes.

OOH work significantly hones your essential triage skills, whether it be helping patients identify the care they need over the phone or prioritising key cases for visits. You will also deal with more unusual cases. Whereas much of in-practice work involves managing minor and chronic illnesses, with out-of-hours work you can often see the impact of your support immediately.
