Dentists provide regular check-ups on your teeth and gums, preventative hygiene and treatment. Dental practices can take private and NHS patients, and most practices take a mixture of both. It is important to check with the dentist prior to making an appointment.

Finding an Emergency Dentist

If you require emergency Dentist treatment you should dial 111 on your telephone keypad.

Your call will be answered by NHS 111 call centre operators. They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms, then give you the advice you need or direct you straightaway to the local dental service that can help you best.

Normal NHS charges will apply if treatment is required. The dentist will be able to give details of these charges.

To be referred to the out-of-hours dentist, patients should dial 111 on their telephone keypad.
