What to Do in a Dental Emergency

When dental emergencies occur outside of hours, you can sometimes be hit with an overwhelming sense of panic and frustration – What do I do? Where do I go? Who do I call?

We want you to be prepared and know the answer to these questions. Below we have put together some options for you to follow in the event a dental emergency occurs in your household.

1. Dial 111 – Your call will be answered by call centre operators who will ask you a number of questions to assess your symptoms. They will then give you the advice you need or direct you to the local dental service that can help you best. Normal NHS charges will apply if treatment is required. The dentist will be able to give details of these charges.
